My Soulful Sojourn at Fireflies: A Journey of Gratitude and Connection

Updated: Sep 19, 2025

In the quietude of my soul, a gentle whisper grew. It was a calling for a haven, somewhere fresh and new. I found my way to a land where fireflies dance—a three-day pilgrimage, a soulful second chance.

Discovering Fireflies: A Sanctuary of Peace

Nestled on the outskirts of Bangalore, embraced by nature, lies Fireflies. This sanctuary felt less like a place and more like a feeling of coming home. The moment I stepped onto its sacred ground, the city's cacophony melted away. It was replaced by the symphony of rustling leaves. I spent precious moments in grounding walks, my bare feet kissing the earth. In the embrace of a wise old tree, I felt a pulse that matched my own. From the little temple of Mother Sita to the tranquil pond mirroring the sky, serenity was our constant companion.

The Joy of Community

Every corner was a canvas of creativity, but the true masterpiece was the community we built. Each meal was a celebration. The delicious, homely Satvik food served as the backdrop for a beautiful tapestry of stories. Our meal tables buzzed with chatter and laughter, the quickest way strangers became friends. We shared life and experiences with every bite.

This journey, this profound gift to myself, would not have been possible without the unwavering support of my loving spouse. To my anchor, who so beautifully cared for our precious 3-year-old, my heart overflows with gratitude. And to my wonderful 14-year-old, who accompanied me with such grace—thank you for being a part of this sacred memory.

A Heartfelt Thank You

My deepest thanks to the universe for this experience and to the incredible souls who brought it to life. To the Indian Leadership Academy (ILA), thank you for curating a journey filled with heart. To Neha, my dear PCC mate and the most radiant host, your smile is pure sunshine! Thank you to your wonderful husband, Pranav, for his quiet, supportive presence.

To the pillars of our journey, our facilitators: Parchi, Anil, and Coach Saksham, your guidance was our compass. Roshan, you captured the very essence of our joy! Niti Kamboj, you awakened our bodies with such grace. And to Kaushik Mohapatra, founder of ILA, your beautiful gift is a cherished reminder of our connection to the universe.

A Tapestry of Souls

The retreat was a constellation of brilliant souls. I was so inspired by Aruna ji, a true power woman living her purpose. It was a privilege to meet Dr. Vinaya Senthil and his lovely wife; his stories as a heart surgeon were unforgettable.

A thread of connection, unseen yet so strong,

Wove through our spirits, where we all belong.

In shared tears and laughter, a family was born,

Souls recognizing souls, on a new, sunlit morn.

Day 1: A Deep Dive into the Soul

Day 1 was a deep dive into the soul. My first activity partner was the lovely Sumaiya Sumeet, and from that moment, the magic began. The breathwork session with Rajesh, Rashmi, and Pretty was a profound release. I hugged fellow souls, our tears mingling in a shared river of healing. It was raw, vulnerable, and utterly beautiful.

After the creative bloom of Mandala art therapy, the night came alive! Sky-gazing with Puneet and his AI app was awesome. We shared a cosmic show with his wonderful wife Priya and his kind mother. But the magic didn't end there. That night, the camaraderie truly sparked. Post-dinner, we gathered in cozy corners. The day's intensity gave way to unguarded conversation and laughter that echoed into the night.

Day 2: A Journey Inward

Day 2 greeted us with the rising sun and a beautiful Sun Salutation. The day was a journey inward, filled with Bodhisattva wisdom and chakra awakening. The evening brought us to a roaring bonfire, its flames dancing like our spirits. This is where the friendships deepened. The post-dinner chit-chats that followed were the heart of it all. We shared stories, dreams, and vulnerabilities, forging connections that felt ancient and true.

Day 3: A Tender Culmination

Day 3 was a tender culmination. A morning Zen walk solidified our bonds; we were no longer strangers but soul sisters—a true family. Niti’s session on Positive Psychology and the story of the Alchemist was a powerful spark. The absolute highlight of fun was the Laughter Yoga led by our wonderfully grounded peer Piyush! We posed for photos like dramatic yogis, our laughter infectious, creating memories etched in pure joy.

Reflecting on the Journey

The final moments of reflection and celebration were bittersweet. The takeaways are immeasurable—mindfulness, NLP, and the profound power of community. I leave with a heart full to bursting, my spirit lighter, and my soul singing a song of joy and connection.

Thank you to every single person who was a part of this unforgettable symphony. This was not just a retreat; it was a homecoming.

Love & Gratitude,

Supra
